Meet the friendly staff at Navarre Animal Clinic!

  • Dr. Jody B. Seward DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Seward is a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Fairless High School in 1991. In 1997, he obtained his veterinary degree from The Ohio State University and was hired by Dr. Randall Stern to join him at Navarre Animal Clinic. In 2015, Dr. Seward purchased the practice. He sees both large and small animals and enjoys building relationships with his patients and their human families. Since 2014, he has served as the veterinarian for the Stark County Fair.

    Outside of his veterinary work, Dr. Seward is married and has three daughters. He is active in the leadership and music ministry of Otterbein United Methodist Church and is a regular guest musician at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Navarre. He has served on the Fairless Local Board of Education since 1998 and on the advisory committee for the Animal Science Program at R.G. Drage Career Center for ten years. He is a girls youth basketball coach. He has a flock of 40 purebred Montadale sheep ('the girls') and enjoys raising and showing them. The Seward house is also home to two dogs (Roxie-a nine year old Boston Terrier, Benny-a Shih Tzu born 6/17/19), three cats (Millie-15 year old domestic shorthair and grumpy old lady, Fred-5 year old Himalayan mix with special needs, and Ned-1 year old tiger and ball of energy), three fish, and several rabbits.

  • Dr. Laura Courtney DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Laura Courtney is also a local Fairless graduate (class of 1999). She graduated with her veterinary degree from The Ohio State University in 2010 and worked in the Canton area for several years. When Dr. Seward purchased the practice in 2015, she joined as a full-time small animal veterinarian. Dr. Courtney enjoys getting to know her clients and their pets. When not in the office, Dr. Courtney enjoys spending time with family and friends. Dr. Courtney has multiple cats that grace her home. 

  • Dr. Tiffany Speicher DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Tiffany Speicher joined our practice in 2018 after graduating from St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies.  She completed her clinical year of veterinary school at The Ohio State University. Her undergraduate Biology degree was obtained through Walsh University. Dr. Speicher practices on both large and small animals, as well as pocket pets. She is also certified in Animal Chiropractics and has treated both large and small animals. Dr. Speicher, along with her husband Brandon, maintain a hobby farm where they finish raising Jersey cattle. Her dog Koda, along with cats Khiko and Sylvester, share their home with two ferrets Pascal and Sgt. Tibbs, and a fish named Pumpkin. Three outside cats Fievel, Sundae, and Pepe Le Pew patrol the barns and property. Dr. Speicher and her husband are expecting their first child in Spring 2020.

  • Whitney Porter RVT
    Office Manager/Registered Veterinary Technician

    Whitney has been employed at Navarre Animal Clinic since 2009 after graduating from Kent State's Veterinary Technology Program. She, along with her husband, Nick, have a small farm near Atwood Lake. She especially enjoys her Belgian draft horses, Scottish highland cows, and kunekune pigs. Six french bulldogs, Celine, Piper, Marlee, Tucker, Rosie, and Bunny rule their home.

  • April Schaar RVT
    Registered Veterinary Technician

    April joined us at Navarre Animal Clinic in 2015. She graduated from Median School of Allied Health Careers in 2005 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. Her companions include her dogs, Maiden and Charlie, a cat, Tuna, and her horse, Pebbles. Outside of the clinic, April enjoys horseback riding, traveling, photography, and trying new restaurants.

  • Annalyss Knight
    Veterinary Assistant

    Annalyss joined us at Navarre Animal Clinic in 2017. Her companions include her dog Mavis, her cats Tiki and Zoey, Dilly the rabbit, and two ducks named Burt and Ernie. Annalyss spends most of her free time fishing and enjoying the lake at her family's cabin.

  • Chelsey Carman
    Veterinary Assistant

    Chelsey joined Navarre Animal Clinic in the summer of 2017. She and her fiance welcomed a baby girl in the spring of 2018. Their family is completed by two cats, Winnie and Minnie, and a new puppy named Allie. Outside of work, Chelsey and her family enjoy taking photos together while exploring nearby hiking trails.

  • Kristi Hopkins
    Veterinary Assistant

    Kristi has been employed at Navarre Animal Clinic since 2017. She is currently attending Cedar Valley College for a degree in Veterinary Technology. She enjoys traveling, especially to Texas. She has two Siberian huskies, Belle and Ember, and a fish, Zero, who keep she and her husband, Randy, busy.

  • Sharon Grove
    Veterinary Technician

    Sharon has been with Navarre Animal Clinic since early 2018. She graduated from Brown Mackey College in 2015 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. Sharon shares her home with two french bulldogs, Captain Jack and GiGi, a yellow lab, Buster, and her cat, Sissy Lou. She, along with her boyfriend, Ron, enjoy spending time with family and friends at their cabin on Seneca Lake.

    Office Cat

    Marvin joined the Navarre Animal Clinic family in 2015. Originally brought in as a stray, he soon found his 'fur-ever' home here at the clinic. Marvin enjoys spending his time doing whatever pleases him. He's either inside watching clients come and go or outside making his rounds with the neighbors. He has made many friends between clinic greetings and our Facebook followers.
